Major character leaving Scrubs at mid-season

ACK! Ausiello has the scoop that someone from Scrubs will be leaving at the mid-season mark…. and by major he means someone who is currently listed in the opening credits.
Zach Braff has made it well known he wasn’t too eager to return for the seventh season… but he does have that pretty pricey contract that gives him incentive to stick around.
Thoughts?

It’ll never be Zach, Neil or John. Zach is the main character, and the Janitor is needed as a foil for his character. As for John, I see them ending Doc. Cox’s career in the finale, but it’d be something huge for J.D to deal with, a passing of the baton from mentor to mentee, and that’s something they should save if they’re doing it.
So, that leaves Sarah (Elliot), Don, (Turk) Ken (Kelso), and Judy (Carla). Removing Carla or Turk would be a big deal for the show, leaving the one who stays as a lone parent, a story that needs more than 9 episodes to do justice.
So, with just Kelso and Elliot behind, who will it be? If the wedding in 7×01 is Elliot’s, she’ll be leaving to prove to Keith that she’s committed to him and no longer wants anything to do with JD. If the wedding is anyone else’s, I’d say Kelso is on his way out.

I think it’s Kelso leaving which would allow Dr. Cox to become the chief of medicine.

Zach has mentioned in his bog that the ending is not about him.

I think it’s Kelso…and Zach said on his blog that he isn’t the reason this is the last season of Scrubs not that the ending isn’t about him.

Well we know who it is now…Kelso. That sucks..but it is the final season so i guess it’s time. So good for Cox…maybe Kelso will become a nurse…or even better a janitor!!!!!!!! lol speaking of which, will we ever learn his name? probably not. eh well.
