Zach Braff quitting Scrubs if it gets renewed

Zach Braff told Access Hollywood that if Scrubs is renewed for another season, he is 90% sure he won’t be back. And why, you might ask? Because he wants to do more movies.
Now, history has proven time and time again that if you leave a hit tv series to do movies, chances are pretty good that whatever you do will flop. Think David Caruso’s infamous departure from NYPD Blue, declaring that the show would fail when he left and his overinflated ego was far greater than any movie success he had. He was just lucky a network gave him another chance years later with CSI: Miami. There is also David Duchovny leaving X-Files, Mischa Barton leaving the O.C., and so on and so on.
He says “Scrubs” has changed his life, but he wants to leave when the show is “on top” and before it jumps the shark.
Always nice to be telling the media you think your series is going to jump the shark. And as far as a promising movie career… let’s just say the only project most people would recognize is Chicken Little, and he merely did the voice for that.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out for both Scrubs and Zach. And for someone who is still pretty B-list, he seems to have an A+ list ego going on. I hope Scrubs comes back without him and bring in a McDreamy or McSteamy type to the show.

Zach did Garden State, that pretty much proves this entire article wrong.
